Sustainable Policy

“As a responsible travel company, Flores Exotic Tours strives to create momentum to make tourism more sustainable whilst delivering quality travel experiences for our valued customers.

We always effort to make tour programs consider to sustainable tourism and support local economy, i.e: Cycling, bird watching, camping, horse riding, Photography and trekking.

We aim to maximize positive contributions of tourism for local communities and the natural environment whilst understanding that there are potential negative environmental, socio-cultural and economic impacts connected with tourism if operations are not managed properly. We have a commitment to be open, honest and realistic about the impacts of our operations. Specifically,

Flores Exotic Tours will:             

  1. Ensure that responsible tourism principles and continuous improvement of sustainability performance are at the core of the business.
  2. Ensure a safe working environment for our employees both in our office and on tour. We covered our guide and staff with Indonesian health insurance (BPJS)
  3. Provide our employees, both office and field-based, with comprehensive training and opportunities for personal and professional development.
  4. Reduce our environmental impacts by finding creative ways to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
  5. Measure and monitor energy consumption and water use in all our operations, with the aim of reducing usage.
  6. Use more sustainable forms of transportation and reduce our carbon footprint where feasible.
  7. Give preference to local goods and services that benefit the communities that we operate in, including locally-owned accommodation, Community based eco-tourism and tourist object.
  8. Engage with and support our suppliers to improve the responsibility of their operations.
  9. Develop products that showcase the best of our destinations whilst providing opportunities for locals and preserving the natural environment.
  10. Raise awareness about sustainability issues and cooperate with all stakeholders in the destinations we operate in so as to preserve them for future generations, locals, and visitors alike.
  11. Provide factually correct messages and keep our clients informed about sustainability issues in Flores and Komodo.
